District 4 April 17, 2026 Meeting
Six VIA members attended the GFWC Florida District 4 Meeting led by Terry Laws, D4 Director on Friday, April 17th held at the Lake Shore Woman’s Club. With her starfish theme evident throughout the day, Terry praised club attendees in D4 for their support and dedication throughout her term.
Villages of Hope was further recognized as the District 4 President’s Project. Carla Sweeney, Co-Founder and Director of Operations & Staff Villages of Hope was on hand and recounted that 14 tiny homes have been build, decorated, and landscaped and praised District 4 who generously donated over $10,000 to the organization through club and individual fundraisers and purchases of bricks for the Legacy Walkway during the 2024-2026 administration.

Marnie Buchanan (Veteran) and Donna Shibley (Guardian) were thrilled to be able to go
on this historic all-women Veteran flight to Washington DC on March 11th. The night
before is a meet and greet hosted by the Woman’s Club of Lakeland and a trip briefing.
